Reise von Saint-Louis nach dem "Fort Gibson" im "Indian Territory, Che-rokee Nation," und von dort weiter ... im Sommer 1850, [1850?].

Illustrated manuscript written in 19th-century German script, recounting the author's travels from St. Louis to Fort Gibson, and from there through the prairie land of the Cherokee Nation and the plains, in the summer of 1850. The text contains detailed descriptions of the topography, flora, fauna, people, dwellings, and cultures of the places that he visited, including the forts and cities of Missouri and the plains further west. With 48 detailed pencil drawings, and a manuscript map of Kansas and surrounding states and territories, showing the locations of the various Indian nations. Indian tribes described or depicted include the Osage, Muskogee, Creek, Cherokee, Mandan, and Sioux. The volume is bound in worn paper boards, with the initials A.E.K. on the front cover. With the volume are additional loose leaves of drawings.
